About me

About me

This is my story

I’ve read a lot of photographer’s ‘About Me’ pages… there are so many amazing photographers out there who started shooting at a young age and collecting different film cameras. While sometimes I wish that was my story, it’s not.

I didn’t go to art school, or do a degree in photography. I didn’t pick up a camera seriously until my 30’s. I don’t do film. I never did film. But these things don’t make me any less of a photographer.

Who am I?

I’m a simple guy who enjoys life. When I don’t have a camera in hand, you’ll find me surfing, practicing yoga, traveling or just enjoying the Gerringong life with Kate and our pup, Tilly. My little family is what keeps me going… and to Kate I say thank you for your support and patience while I do my thing, and also for taking all these great photos of me on this page!

How can I help you?

So I’m a photographer. That doesn’t mean I just take photos, anyone can do that. My goal is to deliver moments, and give you an experience that was not only painless, but so much fun!

My expertise and experience will help you solve the problems you may not be aware you had, to make certain you are 100% happy with your images, and also the process of capturing them.

It doesn’t matter if I’m photographing a wedding, a property, a landscape, food or a product – I am my biggest critic, which ensures you get the best possible end result.

How did I get here?

I caught the photography bug while working for Parks Australia. I spent a lot of time curating a massive collection of beautiful professional photography, and was also given an opportunity to take photos on occasion. I must have had a bit of natural talent, as I later went on a couple of dedicated photography trips to Booderee National Park in Jervis Bay, and also to Kakadu National Park – simply amazing experiences!

Like most wedding photographers out there, my growing interest in photography impressed some of my good friends, who then asked me to photograph their wedding. The next couple of requests came from friends of friends, and by then I was hooked! The emotion of a wedding day, along with the physical demands of photographing for up to 12 hours, is thoroughly exhausting and overwhelming – in the best possible way. It’s like a drug… and the ‘wangover’ (wedding hangover) is very, very real!

Based on the feedback I was receiving about my work, I took a leap of faith and quit my job to start working on photography full time – at the same time moving to Gerringong, an incredibly photogenic part of the NSW South Coast.
